2021, a successful year for Clause Home Garden Courgettes
During 2021, Fleuroselect organized various trials and the panel voted three squashes for fruit quality, disease resistance and crop vigour.
These three squashes, ASTIA, LOREA and ORELIA are part of the Clause Home Garden Premium range. Whether white, green or yellow, these vegetables stood out for their productivity, vigour and robustness.
The jury declares: “ASTIA presents attractive plants, LOREA has nice early and compact plants with reasonable growth and ORELIA is qualified as one of the best AGMs* available!”
What is AGM*?
The Award of Garden Merit (AGM) is an English Award established by the RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) since 1922, helping gardeners to choose the best varieties for their garden. The Award is chosen by a panel after observing behavior of the plant in a test garden. This award is a guarantee of quality and ensures a well-developed plant.
Today the RHS search tool has 75,000 plants available, and the AGM is only awarded to plants in this list that show:
• Excellent for ordinary garden conditions
• Good constitution
• Stability of form and colour
• Some resistance to diseases and pests
• Availability on the market
• Quantity and quality fruits
Unlike other RHS awards, AGM is regularly examined to ensure that the variety still deserves its award.
ASTIA is an early variety, produces long and thin squashes of dark green colour. It offers good resistance to powdery mildew; the plant is also vigorous and allows an easier harvest.
ORELIA is a productive variety which presents disease resistance. It produces bright yellow fruits which are very tasty. It is an early variety which is robust to its environment.
LOREA is a variety that is highly appreciated for its light colour and its mild sweet taste. Lorea is extremely vigorous and productive and offers beautiful compact plants with good growth. It is a reference on the market.
